Every review on SoftwareStackPro follows the same process. This page explains it, so you can judge my recommendations for yourself.
The five steps behind every review
- I start with the vendor’s own pages. I read the pricing page, plan limits and help docs for the plan most readers will actually buy.
- I check what real users report. That means verified reviews, community forums and support threads, not marketing claims.
- I compare it with its closest rival. Every tool is set against the alternative you are probably also considering.
- I write down the limits. Each review names the limits that matter and the people the tool is not right for.
- I check it again every three to six months. The “Last updated” date on a review is the date I last checked it.
What I look at in each category
Email marketing platforms. I look at the editor, automation, deliverability settings and what the plan really costs as your list grows.
I also check the limits of the free plan and the price at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 subscribers. Our email marketing cost calculator uses the same prices.
Web hosting. I look at independent speed and uptime data, support options and the renewal price after the first term.
Renewal pricing gets special attention. It is where most hosting deals stop being cheap.
AI and productivity tools. I look at how they handle everyday work such as writing, research and editing, rather than benchmark scores.
I note common weak spots and whether the paid plan is worth it over the free one.
How prices are checked
Prices come from each company’s official pricing page on the date shown in the review. I record the monthly price and the price when billed yearly.
If a price changes before my next check, please tell me and I will update it.
How scores and picks are decided
Ratings reflect value for the reader the review is written for, not features alone. A cheaper tool can beat a more powerful one if it does the job.
Every “best for” pick names who it suits and who should skip it.
Affiliate links and independence
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you buy. It never changes a rating, a ranking or a recommendation.
No company can pay for a review or a better position. Read the full affiliate disclosure for details.
