Hidden and extra costs to watch

  • Domain renewal. Namecheap says some plans include one free non premium domain for the first year. From 1 November 2026 a .com renews at $19.98 a year plus the ICANN fee (Namecheap).
  • The trial counts as your purchase. Namecheap allows one trial per term per account, and the intro offer cannot be reused on the renewal after it.
  • PremiumDNS. Offered at $4.88 a year. Most small sites do not need it.
  • Paid SSL. Every shared plan already includes free SSL, so skip PositiveSSL upsells unless you need a specific certificate.
  • Domain privacy. Free for life on eligible domains, so you should not pay for it.
