Quick answer

For the biggest payout per sale, WP Engine ($200 on most plans) and Kinsta (up to $500 plus 10% recurring) lead. They suit sites whose readers run businesses on WordPress.

For beginner blogs, Hostinger (up to 40% of the sale) and SiteGround ($50 to $100, paid weekly, no minimum) are easier wins.

How much could you earn?

Hosting programs pay in three ways: a flat fee per sale, a percentage of the sale, or a recurring share. The estimator below compares them at the number of sales you expect.

Best hosting affiliate programs by type of site

Best for beginner blogs: Hostinger and SiteGround

Hostinger pays up to 40% of the sale on Web Hosting, Website Builder and Reach plans, with a 30 day cookie. Payouts start at $100 on PayPal once you have 3 approved sales.

SiteGround pays $50 for 1 to 5 sales a month, $75 for 6 to 10 and up to $100 for 11 to 20. There is no payout minimum and payments go out weekly, which helps new sites.

Best payout per sale: WP Engine and Kinsta

WP Engine pays $200 or the customer’s first monthly payment, whichever is higher, and $100 on the Lite plan. Its 180 day cookie is the longest in this list.

Kinsta pays $50 to $500 once, depending on the plan, plus 10% of the monthly bill for the life of the customer. Both suit readers who run serious WordPress sites.

Best volume tiers: HostGator

HostGator pays $65 for 1 to 5 signups a month, $75 for 6 to 10, $100 for 11 to 20 and $125 above that. It runs on Impact.

Payments arrive about 2 months and 10 days after the month of the sale, so plan for the delay.

Best for developers and agencies: Cloudways

Cloudways offers a slab plan of up to $125 per sale or a hybrid of $30 plus 7% for the customer’s lifetime. Customers must pay two full invoices before a commission is approved.

Best for domains and small sites: Namecheap

Namecheap guarantees 15% on qualified sales, with a 30 day cookie. Only coupons from the affiliate program earn commission, and only new customers count.

Pick a flat fee program if
  • Your readers buy cheap shared hosting
  • You want predictable earnings per sale
  • You expect a few sales a month
Pick a percentage or recurring program if
  • Your readers buy longer or bigger plans
  • You write for agencies and businesses
  • You want income that keeps paying

Hostinger: referral program vs affiliate program

Hostinger runs two different schemes, and mixing them up can get your commission cancelled. The customer referral program pays up to 20% of a friend’s first purchase.

Its terms say referral links should not be published on commercial websites, blogs or YouTube channels, only on personal social media (Hostinger referral agreement). Bloggers should apply to the Hostinger Affiliate Program instead.

Rules that quietly cost affiliates money

  • Hold periods. DreamHost holds commissions for 97 days and Hostinger pays only commissions older than 45 days.
  • Refund windows. Hostinger revokes commission if the customer cancels within the 30 day money back period.
  • Brand bidding bans. Hostinger, InMotion, Kinsta and Cloudways restrict paid ads on their brand names.
  • Coupon rules. Namecheap pays only on its own affiliate coupons, and Kinsta bans coupon and deal sites.
  • Excluded sales. Hostinger pays nothing on 1 month plans, renewals or add ons.

How to get approved

  1. Publish a few genuinely useful hosting posts first, such as a review, a comparison and a pricing guide.
  2. Add a clear affiliate disclosure page. Kinsta requires one.
  3. Apply to two or three programs that match your readers, not all of them at once.
  4. Use the exact account details on your site, so reviewers can match you to your content.
  5. Track which posts convert, then double down on that topic.

Frequently asked questions

Which web hosting affiliate program pays the most?

Per sale, managed WordPress programs pay the most: WP Engine pays $200 or the first month on most plans, and Kinsta pays up to $500 plus 10% recurring. For shared hosting, HostGator’s tiers reach $125 per sale.

Which hosting affiliate program is best for beginners?

SiteGround and Hostinger are the easiest to start with. SiteGround has no payout minimum and pays weekly, while Hostinger pays a share of each sale and reviews applications by hand within about 5 business days.

Can I use the Hostinger referral program on my blog?

No, Hostinger’s referral program terms say referral links should not be published on commercial websites, blogs or YouTube. Bloggers should apply to the separate Hostinger Affiliate Program instead.

Do hosting affiliate programs pay recurring commissions?

A few do: Kinsta pays 10% monthly for the customer’s lifetime and Cloudways offers 7% lifetime on its hybrid plan. Most others pay once per sale.
