Quick answer

Hostinger is the better pick for most new sites. It is easier to use, faster in independent tests and very cheap if you prepay for 4 years.

Namecheap wins on long term cost and flexibility. Stellar costs $2.28 a month in year one and renews at $55.88 a year, with no 4 year commitment.

Which host is cheaper for you?

Hostinger and Namecheap price their plans in opposite ways. Hostinger wants a long prepaid term, while Namecheap charges a small first year and then renews each year.

That makes the cheaper host depend on how long you stay. The calculator shows the total for your timeline.

Black November 2026

Hosting sales now run for most of November. Hostinger’s 2026 Sale Season runs October 19 to December 14, according to Zoutons, quoting Hostinger’s FAQ, and Namecheap ran a 15 day Black Friday sale last year (Namecheap, 2025).

Sales cut the first term price only. The renewal prices below stay the same, so use the calculator with the renewal years before you pay.

Speed and uptime

We have not run our own test on both hosts yet. The best independent data we found comes from one reviewer who monitored a test site on each host for about a year.

The takeaway: both are fast enough for a small site. Hostinger loads a little faster, while Namecheap had better uptime in this one test.

Ease of use

Hostinger built its own dashboard, hPanel. It puts WordPress setup, email, backups and SSL on one clean screen, which suits first time site owners.

Namecheap uses cPanel, the long standing industry panel. It looks dated but anyone who has used other hosts will feel at home, and moving a site in or out is simple.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Hostinger if
  • This is your first website
  • You can prepay 4 years
  • You want a US server on a starter budget
Choose Namecheap if
  • You do not want a 4 year commitment
  • You plan to keep the site 5 years or more
  • You already manage domains at Namecheap

Either way, set a reminder before your renewal date. That is when most hosting bills jump.
